Hamlet

  • Director: Josh Gladstone
  • Year: 2005
  • Assistant Designer: Kristen Adams
Designer: David Martin Venue: Guild Hall Theater ( Hamptons , Long Island ). The design of the show, Hamlet, incorporated movable fabric panels and upstage shelves that actors could place their possessions and props. At the end of play, just as everything collapses, the shelves are riggged to release and the world falls in union with the characters.
The movable fabric panels broke up the space of stage and allowed beautiful transitions of entrances and exits.
Specific props were chosen based on silhouettes and shape they would hold within the shelf units.
