Reel 2012 (New!)

A new reel has been posted my website, please take a look! The reel will always be available from the top menu or click here.

The Muse

The French TV channel ARTE has commanded a series of 11 films for the first historical retrospective on Edward Hopper in Paris at Le Grand Palais in the fall 2012 (The equivalent of the MET in NY).

Each film is inspired by an Edward Hopper painting. ARTE will release the film on TV & in theaters in Paris, hopefully at the MoMA as well. The directors attached are Sophie Barthes, Paolo Roversi, Valérie Mréjen, Mathieu Amalric, Dominique Blanc, Valérie Pirson (Animation works with Michel Gondry), Angela Schanelec (German), Martin de Thurah (Danish), Viktor Antonov (Animation), Sophie Fiennes and Hal Hartley.

I had the pleasure of recreating physical worlds/sets for the Edward Hopper paintings, The Morning Sun and Nighthawks for director Sophie Barthes (Cold Souls), cinematographer Andrij Parekh (Blue Valentine, Half-Nelson) and starring Michael Stuhlbarg (Serious Man, Boardwalk Empire). It was a fantastic project to create! Congrats to a great team!

Bring on the Spring!

Its been a busy couple months.

I've been to Albuquerque, New Mexico for a 3D horror feature directed by the talented Blair Erickson and produced by Zachary Quinto's production company.  Back and forth to upstate New York for a music video/film directed by Daniel Kruglikov, featuring the amazing Sean Lennon and Charlotte Kemp-Muhl. In between, working with the fine people over at ABC for the new daytime television show, The Revolution with Tim Gunn and Tye Pennington.  And most recently, just wrapped the1950's feature film, Child of God, filmed in Lewisburg, West Virginia, based on the book by Cormac McCarthy and directed by James Franco.

I have worked with excellent people and look forward to the spring projects! The new reel will be coming out shortly, but in the meantime, please take a look at the new projects, updated clips, and photos. As usual, further images/drawings can be found upon request: contact@kristen-adams.com.

Thanks!

Broken Tower Release

New Trailer:

The Broken Tower was purchased by Focus Features and will be released On Demand on Jan. 10th 2011. Here is the link to Focus Features' page on the film: link.

From Focus World and director/star James Franco, a film about visionary poet Hart Crane, who lived a life of beauty, passion, and tragedy. Hart Crane was one of the most important voices in American poetry – but lived a life with as much turmoil as passion. From his early life to his journeys from New York, Cuba, and Paris, Crane’s story and that of the loves that defined him is told with imaginative empathy, and with a no holds barred performance – in a film as introspective, rebellious, heartbreaking, and honest as Crane himself.
